Dr Shiyao Yu

Biography
Shiyao Yu completed his PhD at the University of Strathclyde with the Applied Superconductivity Laboratory. Before that he received his MSc degree from the University of Birmingham, and BEng degree from the University of Strathclyde. He has been engaging in Electrical Power Systems since 2019.
His research focused on the modelling, fault analysis, and protection of the electrical system for the STEP Prototype Powerplant, with particular emphasis on multi-mode microgrid operation, differential protection, and directional overcurrent backup protection.
