Dr Tian Lan

Biography

Tian Lan was born on November 22th, 1992 in Meishan city, Sichuan province, China. He received his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), in field of Thermal Energy and Power Engineering, from North China Electric Power University (NCEPU), Baoding, China, in 2014.

He completed his Master of Engineering (MEng), in field of Electrical Engineering, from Texas A&M University in 2016 and then joined the Faculty of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, University of Strathclyde to continue his study to Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in field of Applied Superconductivity in 2018.

His research interests lie in the area of studying ways to minimize AC loss of 2G HTS coils for future fully superconducting machines. Also, He has collaborated actively with researchers in several other disciplines of Electronic and Electrical Engineering.
