Dr Ezgi Taylan Koparan

Biography

Dr. Ezgi Taylan Koparan is a Professor of Mathematics and Science Education at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University. With a distinguished career marked by extensive research and a strong publication record of over 90 papers in peer-reviewed journals, Dr. Koparan is a leading expert in the fields of superconductivity, materials science, and science education. Her research focuses on the synthesis, characterization, and application of MgB2 superconductor thin films, bulk materials and superconducting joints, with a particular emphasis on enhancing the critical current density and magnetic levitation force of MgB2 superconductors. In addition to her research, Dr. Koparan is deeply passionate about science education, actively developing innovative teaching methodologies and conducting research on student learning, teacher training, and the integration of technology in science classrooms. Dr. Koparan has also served in a number of administrative roles at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, including Vice Dean, Erasmus Coordinator, Mevlana Coordinator, Farabi Coordinator, and Vice Coordinator for Social Responsibility Projects.

Throughout her career, Dr. Koparan has received numerous awards and recognitions for her contributions to science, including grants from The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkiye (TÜBİTAK) and the Higher Education Council of Turkiye (YÖK).
