Our research group was delighted to host an alumni talk delivered by Dr. Sriharsha Venuturumilli, currently Senior Magnet Engineer at Openstar Technologies Ltd., Wellington, New Zealand.
Titled “Bridging Theory and Practice: Advancing Superconducting Technologies for Next-Generation Magnets”, the talk offered a rich overview of Sriharsha’s professional journey from academic research into cutting-edge industry applications. Drawing on his current work, he highlighted key challenges and innovations in the design, fabrication, and integration of high-performance superconducting magnets.
The session was attended by students and postdocs in our research group, and concluded with a Q&A discussion on the future of superconducting systems in fusion, particle physics, and commercial applications.
We thank Dr. Venuturumilli for sharing his insights and continuing to inspire the next generation of superconducting engineers.
