We are happy to announce that the Strathclyde EPSRC IAA & N-ZEEE & RSE funded Workshop on Power Electronics for Extreme Environments will be held in Glasgow on 27 October 2025. The goal of the workshop is to identify challenges, gaps, opportunities and trend of power electronics for extreme environments such as high/cryogenic temperature, vibration and radiation, and eventually outline a proposal to European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) for network funding.
The workshop will serve as a platform bringing together industry engineers and academic researchers engaged in power electronics for deep-earth drilling, aerospace, and space applications. The day will be packed with presentations and round table discussions among colleagues from various universities, as well as manufacturers and suppliers in semiconductor, aviation, geothermal, oil&gas and fusion industry. There will also be flash presentations from early career researchers and PhD students.
